Cinematographer, Visual Storyteller
I'm Saumitra Yadnyopavit, a freelance Cinematographer and Director of Photography (DOP) based in Mumbai and Pune. A graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), I bring a story-driven approach to every project I shoot — whether it's a feature film, a commercial for a national brand, or an intimate documentary.
My love for filmmaking began in my mid-teens, exploring narratives through short films and non-fiction pieces. Before pursuing cinematography at FTII, I studied Psychology — something that's quietly shaped the way I approach every frame since.
Over the years I've had the privilege of working with clients like Netflix India, Mahindra, Xiaomi, and PNG Jewellers — collaborating with directors, agencies, and production houses across Mumbai, Pune, and Maharashtra. My work spans feature films, ad films, brand films, and documentaries.
